  1. Elaborate Headquarters or Offices

While fancy office spaces may seem necessary to some companies, we don’t think they are. All of our processes are completed online. There is no need for clients to come see us in person so why would we need elaborate, big offices? The whole Barbados team (including our CEO) works out of two small office spaces in Regus, One Welches. The first office is about 200 square feet. That’s about the size of a bedroom, which is ironic considering you never have to leave your bedroom in order to have a relationship with Carilend! The second office is about 80 square feet and is used for small meetings or conference calls. We are a close knit group - literally and figuratively!


  1. Paper

Since all of our processes are online, we are a completely paperless company. We don’t send out paper statements either because all of your lending or borrowing activity is available online. This means you can access it 24 hours a day 365 days a year. No need to wait for that piece of mail each month to then have to discard it or file it away. Less paper for you and less paper for us! Less paper also means less money spent on printers, ink, toners and all the other associated costs.

  1. Call Centres

Have you ever wanted to ask a simple question about your account, but had to go through a call centre to get an answer? You dial the number, press 1 for English, press 2 for accounts, input your account number, wait 4 minutes and 32 seconds for a representative, and then you have to prove your identity to the representative - all so you can ask what that $2.80 charge on your statement is for?!  Lucky for you through Carilend, all the information you need is available online through your Carilend account. You can see all of your transactions, including funds paid in, withdrawals and interest earned. There is no need to speak to anyone to see what’s going on with your account. Plus there’s no hidden costs so you would never have to worry about a miscellaneous fee anyways! Of course we are always happy to help if you do have a question and are available by phone or email, but everything can be accessed online, easily and securely.


  1. Free Extravagant Giveaways

Some companies use this approach, but these giveaways aren’t actually free. You pay for them somewhere along the line.
